Wondering what Chicago police are hiding from you in discovery? Presented by Illinois Legal Aid Online and First Defense Legal Aid, will provide attendees a look at the what, where, and how of police records in lawsuits against the Chicago Police Department.
Chicago attorney H. Candace Gorman will review the types of documents that should be in CPD investigative files and what to do if those documents are not turned over in multiple contexts, including how to use FOIA, how to follow up on inadequate FOIA responses, some of the tricks CPD uses to avoid providing documents, and how to follow up when the police are not giving you in discovery what they should.
