Filing a workplace discrimination claim time limits

Each organization has specific deadlines to file a claim. These deadlines are:

  • 300 days from the last incident to file a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
  • 300 days from the the last incident to file a claim with the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) and the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR).

You can include separate incidents in one claim. But, you must file the claim within the required number of days from the last incident.
