The following are defenses that you can raise to contest your parking ticket:
- You are not the owner of the vehicle.
- The vehicle was reported stolen.
- The parking meter malfunctioned.
- No sign was posted.
- You gave your car to a valet parking service and you have a receipt.
- The vehicle or its state registration plates (license plates) were stolen at the time of the violation.
- The relevant signs prohibiting or restricting parking were missing or obscured.
- The information cited in the violation is incorrect or inconsistent with parking violation parameters in the City of Chicago.
