To use this program, you must:
- Have already filed a civil case (not traffic or juvenile justice) as a Plaintiff or Petitioner, and
- Need to serve the Defendants or Respondents with court papers.
Note: In Cook County, the Sheriff must try to serve the Defendants or Respondents before you can ask for a special process server.
To complete this program, you will need to know:
- Your case information,
- The names and addresses of all of the other parties in your case,
- Information about any previous attempts to serve the Defendants or Respondents, and
- The name and address of the person or company you want the judge to appoint as a special process server. If this a private detective, you will also need their license number.
