What do you do in your day job?
I'm a Supervisory Attorney at Legal Aid Chicago, with a focus on Consumer Protection. I mostly help seniors.
What is your volunteer role and how long have you been working with ILAO?
Somewhere near 20 years ago. Can't recall exactly, but I have been with LAF/Legal Aid Chicago for 20 years. I have been a content editor in the areas of debtors' rights and garnishment exemptions - I originally worked with Alan Alop, who I believe may have been the original author of the content.
Why did you become a Legal Content volunteer?
I was pleased to be able to contribute my knowledge to ILAO to help consumers in the community.
What do you like most about being an ILAO volunteer?
Knowing that I am helping to provide people with legal information that is free, easy, and accessible 24/7 online.
What have you gained from your time with ILAO?
Partnership with other dedicated public interest lawyers.
If you had an alternative or dream career, what would it be?
Professional musician. But glad I don't have to make my living at it - even legal aid lawyer's salary is better than I'd probably earn as a full-time musician!
