Tevin Williams was ILAO's LiveHelp Program Coordinator, funded through the AmeriCorps VISTA program, in 2018.

What did you learn at ILAO that helped your career?

I work a lot with the law in the legal process. One thing that I'm grateful for from ILAO, was I was able to understand how the law changes a lot, and ILAO was able to provide those updates and changes to our users. I'm glad I am able to apply those lessons to the career I'm in now.

What were some of your favorite memories working at ILAO?

We were doing a live training at Northwestern law school. I was nervous, and Amy went first. I was nervous and scanning Amy and then the students. I remember thinking that I'll let Amy be my motivation. After the end of the presentation, not too many people clapped. I spoke with Amy afterwards and she said "It's okay Tevin, I think you did good."

A couple of weeks later a bunch of Northwestern law students start applying! I was excited. I went to Amy and said "You know what? You were right." Ever since that day I just trusted whatever Amy had to say!

Did you have any final thoughts you wanted to share with the ILAO community?

I wanted to let the people and ILAO know that you all had an impact on my life. I want to thank everyone at ILAO that I ever interacted and communicated with. I'm glad I met you all. I look forward to continue our communications and relationship in the future!
