Job Description

In addition to the annual salary listed, Ascend Justice offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance (lowest level 100% employer paid, 50% premium for dependents employer paid), dental insurance (employer paid), short- and long-term disability (employer paid), and life insurance (employer paid), 12 weeks paid parental leave. Ascend Justice's offices are currently operating on a hybrid working schedule (in-office/work from home). The schedule for this position will be determined as the position is filled and based on current agency needs. Essential Responsibilities ● In accordance with our Strategic Plan, develop and implement an annual communications plan to strengthen, expand, and steward relationships and to provide clear, effective, and consistent messaging ● Develop metrics to analyze the efficacy of Ascend Justice communications using tools such as LinkedIn and Google Analytics as well as internal and external feedback ● Ensure that Ascend Justice uses consistent branding and messaging across a variety of communications platforms and media ● Oversee development and dissemination of agency newsletters to engage and inform stakeholders ● Curate a well-planned, active social media presence across a number of platforms, monitoring impact with regular reports to agency leadership ● Maintain the Ascend Justice website as a user-friendly, up-to-date source of information about our agency, our work, our news, and our events ● Develop visually appealing materials and infographics to convey complex information ● With the Managing Director for Advocacy and Partnerships, promote Ascend Justice’s advocacy agenda ● Manage relationships with outside vendors and contractors as necessary ● With agency leadership, facilitate staff engagement with the media ● Support internal communications initiatives Other Responsibilities ● Protect the organization by keeping information confidential. ● Perform administrative duties as needed including filing, copying, sorting, mailing, etc. ● Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Work Environment ● Courthouse and offices are fully accessible. Some work at off-site locations may be required and those may not necessarily be fully accessible. ● Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required. ● This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners. Employee is regularly required to talk, hear, see, and communicate effectively via computer. ● The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds. ● Smoke- and drug-free environment.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree ● At least five years of relevant experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector ● Exceptional verbal and written communications skills ● Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of confidentiality ● Demonstrated success in building relationships and working collaboratively ● Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, high volume environment ● Excellent judgment and decision-making skills ● Experience with online platforms such as Constant Contact, WordPress, Hootsuite, Canva or similar ● Experience with Little Green Light or any nonprofit CRM a plus ● Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite.
